We miss you and certainly miss gathering in the same space together sharing live music, a unique and incomparable experience. Take heart, LIBE is making plans for performances, both live-streamed and for concerts which are socially distanced in large appropriately ventilated spaces.

These past six months have been difficult for all of us, and today I would like to share a brief offering as we mourn the loss of several musicians in the LIBE and early music community since March. Ed Brewer, Harpsichordist born in 1937, passed at the age of 82 in April. Judson Griffin, Baroque Violinist born in 1951, passed at age 69 in May. Karen Marie Marmer, Baroque Violinist born in 1957, passed at age 63 in July.

These three wonderful musicians have all shared their spirit and skills with you on the LIBE concert series for many years, as have their spouses, and we offer our sincere condolences to their families and friends. In their honor, I am sharing the Sonatina from J.S. Bach's Cantata "Actus Tragicus", BWV 106, performed by LIBE last March, 2019 in "A Musical Offering", a tribute to my mother, LIBE founder and harpsichordist, Sonia Gezairlian Grib.

From Actus Tragicus

I hope this brief offering is a reminder of how vital music is to our humanity, our culture and community. I look forward to inviting you all, musicians, supporters and volunteers, to participating in musical events soon as we all persevere and pursue our dreams for a better and whole world.

With love and respect,
